Next scheduled 3RBC Membership meeting is Monday, July 12 — We Will Travel Through Pennsylvania
Mike
Fialkovich, one of our club's most active birders, will take us on
birding trips across the state at our meeting on Monday, July 12. Come
at 7 PM for socializing. The program will begin at 7:30PM.
The meeting location will be at Phipps Garden Center, Shady & Fifth
Avenues in Shadyside, behind the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
At
membership meetings, bring in old bird-related magazines books, etc.
that are no longer want, and set them on a table for anyone to take,
free. If the materials are not taken, please take them home.
New! June 2004 Peregrine Newsletter
New!
The Pittsburgh Post Gazette has dropped Scott Shalaway's Sunday column,
apparently without any mention. They have dropped several freelance
writers, giving budgetary problems as a reason.
Scott is the only regularly appearing natural history writer they run,
and he's excellent at what he does. The paper has previously returned
features when they got a complaint level greater than they expected.
Let's give them our take on this and get him back. Call the Post
Gazette today and let them know this is a big mistake.

Mission: To gather in friendship, to enjoy the wonders of nature and to share our passion for birds!
Reminder!
Are you driving to the next outing alone? Why not ride with
others or offer to drive. All you need to do is post a message in the Car Pool Discussion Forum. What better way to get acquainted with other 3RBC members!
Attention!
Frick Park birders: Please record your sightings in the journal located
in the mailbox on the side of the garden shed near the (old) nature
center.
Schenley Park birders: Please stop in
the Visitors Center to record your sightings and write your birding
adventures in the journal on the side counter.
If you have any ideas, announcements, comments or want to report a problem with the web site, please contact Julia Pahountis-Opacic or Liz Barrow.
